Elmwood Inn Fine Teas was commissioned by the National Archives in Washington to produce a private-label tea commemorating the 1773 Boston Tea Party, one of the pivotal events in the colonists' struggle for independence.
Five Chinese teas were aboard the three ships in Boston Harbor: three black and two green, including Hyson green tea grown in China and imported by the British East India Company. All 340 chests filled with those five teas teas went overboard on December 16, 1773.
This tea is also available in National Park Gift Stores across New England and in the gift shop at the Boston Tea Party Ships Museum, where our founder, Bruce Richardson, serves as tea master.
